Social Computing

Course Overview

This course concerns society and their use of social computing tools, such as emerging trends, societies behavior and how it is effected by the use of social computing software or tools.

We cover such areas as social networking, eGoverment, IM services, emails, blogs, micro blogging and Web 2.0 technologies that allow communication between users and its impact on every day life.

Learning Objectives

  • Describe the characteristics of social software and Web2.0 technologies.
  • Discuss the impact of social computing technologies on everyday life.
  • Present an aspect of the application of social computing in a practical context
